Creamy Garlic Dressing
Makes 1 cup
Dressings are one of those things that it would seem obvious to buy at the store. Why go through the added step of compiling simple ingredients for something that’s perfectly delicious right out of the bottle? Well just you wait!
This creamy garlic dressing is simple to put together, flavorful, creamy, and easy to adjust to your liking. Better yet, it goes with a wild variety of salads!
Ways to make this your own
How much garlic is too much?
One of the great things about making your own salad dressings is you can tailor the ingredients so you have the flavor you’re looking for. Speaking for myself, I like the garlic to be impactful, but not overwhelming. One big clove or two small cloves minced does the trick. But adjust however you may!
What about the consistency?
You don’t want your dressing to be as stiff as mayonnaise, but you also don’t want it to be like water. If your dressing looks too soupy, try adding a little more mayonnaise. If it’s too stiff, add just a touch more white wine vinegar (a tsp only), and a bit more olive oil. You can always store extra dressing in your fridge for later.
Adding other herbs
I stuck with oregano here, but feel free to add in some more herbs! Thyme, basil, herbs de provence… the world is your oyster!
Ingredients:
1/2 cup of mayonnaise (Hellman’s if you can find it)
1 tsp Dijon mustard (or your favorite mustard)
1 big clove or 2 small cloves garlic, minced
1 tbsp white wine vinegar
1/2 tsp kosher salt
1/4 tsp pepper
1/3 cup olive oil
1 tsp oregano
Directions:
Starting with the mayonnaise, all all of the ingredients up until the olive oil. Stir until fully incorporated. Add the olive oil as you quickly stir the mixture.

Add in the oregano, or any other herbs you desire. Serve with salad, save for later, or use as a delicious dip!
